Introduction
“Art is not the reflection of reality, it is the reality of reflection” (Godard)
NATURE ART
The Artist
A deep fascination for nature characterises the works of Carry van Delft showing unique moments in which nature reveals itself.
She manages to capture the essence of enchanting nature in a powerful way by taking the viewer to the atmosphere of a colorful garden, floral fragments or patterns, an atmospheric landscape or a shimmering sea. Harmony in colour, contrast between light and dark and surprising compositions are characteristic of many of her works that are situated on the border between figuration and abstraction. She lives and works alternately in the Netherlands and mid-France. (Nouvelle-Aquitaine).
(International) Exhibitions
For more than 20 years her work has been exhibited in a large number of countries including the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the U.S., Hungary, Germany and Italy. In galleries, well known (international) art fairs (AAF, Berliner Liste, Fl. Biënnale Italy) , historical locations, regional museums and exhibition spaces.Works can be found in the collection of companies and artlovers from Europe to Australia.
Artistic Statement
“Beautiful places in nature linger my mind. They give me resilience and inspiration from which I can draw. Such as the dusk, morning mist, light, the moving color palette of flowers, or how water manifests itself during a storm.” My art should tell a story without words and trigger something in the viewer.” “I feel connected to artists from the Romantic/Impressionist period, such as the later work of Turner, Constable, Monet, among others.
