    International Contemporary Artist

    Dutch artist Carry van Delft is known for her paintings that capture the changing moods and colors of nature.

    She comes from an artistic and musical family. Educated in painting, classical music, photography, and art history, she reveals an artist with broad artistic interests, both visually and musically oriented.

    In her work she explores the tension between movement, stillness, and excess in nature. Nature and the experience serve as mirrors and are leitmotifs that create a world of memories. They can convey peace and tranquility, radiate optimism and intensity or symbolize the power of nature. She sees it as her mission to give shape to the imperishable in nature and is always searching for a new experience of reality. Where she previously painted in pure abstraction, she now uses a mix of abstraction and figuration, a conscious choice to give the work more meaning and broaden perception.

    She works alternately in the Netherlands and in the heart of France (Limousin). This romantic region, with its rolling hills, sunflower fields, and lakes, inspires enthusiasm and was once a significant source of inspiration for artists, composers, and writers (s.a. Monet, Guillaumin, Chopin, G. Sand).

    (International) Exhibitions

    Since 2003, her work has been exhibited internationally at various galleries, regional museums, outdoor art events and at well-known international art fairs in countries such as  the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the U.S.A., Hungary, Germany, and Italy. Her works are held by companies and art enthusiasts both within and outside Europe. 

    Artistic Statement
    Nature and the sense of wonder it evokes in me are almost a philosophical source of inspiration for me. I’m interested in visual experience, in which color, light, and atmosphere play a significant role. That overwhelming feeling when you see something impressive or powerful in nature. It allows me to translate these experiences into concrete, abstract images. Artists from the Romantic and Impressionist move and inspire me…..”

    Website Carry van Delft archived by the Royal Dutch Library as ‘digital heritage’.

    The Dutch Royal Library of the Netherlands (De Koninklijke Bibliotheek) The Hague has preserved the website www.carryvandelft.nl as ‘digital heritage”. This means that the website will be archived on a monthly basis and be kept for long term purposes. As a result people will still have access to this site over 100 years. This means a recognition on the quality and contents of this website. The Charter of Preservation of Digital Heritage 2003 draws the attention to the risk of loss which digital heritage is exposed to due to the rapid obsolence of hard and software. For this reason they archive websites that are representative for the dutch culture, history and society.
